Types of Life Insurance:
- Whole Life: provides lifelong protection. As long as you pay the premiums, and no loans, withdrawals or surrenders are taken, the full face amount will be paid. Because it is designed to last a lifetime, permanent life insurance accumulates cash value and is priced for you to keep over a long period of time. These can be affordable starter policies for children or older people looking to add more life insurance for final expense reasons. Provides a lifetime of guaranteed coverage; cash surrender values accumulate to provide emergency funds or short term money needs.

- Universal Life: is a flexible insurance policy. Premium payments can be structured to meet current financial needs; they may be skipped entirely, extra sums may be added; policy may be paid up yearly, etc. Also, similar to whole life insurance, the policy accumulates a cash value, which can be also used as a savings vehicle. (keep in mind, any gains can be taxed upon withdrawal). The policy can be structured to provide coverage for an individual or the entire family.

- Term Insurance: is designed to meet temporary needs. It provides protection for a specific period of time (the "term") and generally pays a benefit only if you die during the term. This type of insurance often makes sense when you have a need for coverage that will disappear at a specific point in time. For instance, you may decide that you only need coverage until your children graduate from college or a particular debt is paid off, such as your mortgage. There are many types of term insurance; Level Term (premium stays the same for specified period; 10, 20, 30 years); Annual Renewable Term (premium changes each year); Decreasing Term (death benefit decreases each year)

Types of Health Insurance:
- Long Term Care: Because of old age, mental or physical illness, or injury, some people find themselves in need of help with eating, bathing, dressing, toileting or continence, and/or transferring (e.g., getting out of a chair or out of bed). These six actions are called Activities of Daily Living–sometimes referred to as ADLs. In general, if you can’t do two or more of these activities, or if you have a cognitive impairment, you are said to need “long-term care.”
Depending on the plan selected, (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced) a daily benefit is paid to a state approved facility while a resident is in the facility (adult day care, assisted living, community care, hospice, or nursing home). The cost of the policy is based on the plan selected.
- Disability Income Insurance: Your earning power is your most valuable asset. The disability Income policy provides monthly benefits based on the plan you select. Coverage is provided whether you are hurt on or off the job. Premiums are based on your current income and the plan you select. A choice of coverage periods and waiting periods are available which plays a part in premium determination.
There are two types of Disability policies:
A. Short-Term Disability policies (STD) have a waiting period of 0 to 14 days with a
maximum benefit period of no longer than two years.
B. Long-Term Disability policies (LTD) have a waiting period of several
weeks to several months with a maximum benefit period ranging from a
few years to the rest of your life.
